openplaces is seeking highly motivated, intelligent and competitive interns for its year-round, 16-week paid internship program for new graduates. Additionally, a part-time co-op program is being offered for University students available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Through a defined program, interns will gain a broad range of business experience working on specific projects. Interns are matched with mentors and assigned “real world” challenge projects, while job performance is monitored during the program.
This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you will have the opportunity to work with a team of web-obsessed serial entrepreneurs.
Be exposed to a wide variety of activities such as :
- Brainstorming and collaborating with the software development team and company partners
- Web-related market research projects, hands-on media relations activities, business development, sales, customer relations and support activities.
- Testing and Quality Assurance, implementation.
- New business and product launch, marketing and strategizing.
- Hands-on, go-to-market activities including cold-calling, emailing, documentation, business writing, design, scheduling of appointments, interacting with potential customers
Requirements/desired skills:
- Smart, motivated and passionate individuals with an interest in social media, web applications and new technology
- University graduates from an accredited college or University.
- Competitive and results-oriented.
- A passion for the Internet.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, can-do attitude and enthusiastic energy to learn.
- Strong leadership/motivation skills and solid problem solving ability.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and time-management skills. Excellent English oral communication and written skills.
